L-01 · Investigate safely, remediate methodically
Hazardous-material remediation
Affected areas are handled under controlled conditions so the building is safely prepared for strip-out, modernisation or further construction work.
Hazardous substances in buildings can put residents, employees and operatives at risk. In older buildings, industrial premises and other existing property, contamination is often exposed only during alteration or dismantling.
The remediation method depends on the substance, its condition and location, and the extent of contamination. If no investigation exists, sampling and analysis by a suitable laboratory or specialist may be necessary.

- Man-made mineral fibres and older mineral wool

- 03
Plan work and protection zones and segregate them where required
- 04
Install technical protection measures
- 05
Remove affected materials safely
- 06
Package, label and prepare materials for transport
- 07
Clean the work areas
- 08
Coordinate independent clearance where required
Coordination and conditions
Required notifications, checks, measurements and disposal records are considered according to the project and applicable law or coordinated with suitable specialists.
